Spotted Garden Eel

Spotted garden eels are fish that embed themselves into the seafloor with their head sticking up in order to feed on zooplankton drifting through the current. They form colonies so from above it looks almost like its a bed of plants, hence the name garden eels. These guys will retreat down into the sand when threatened. Despite their unique behavior they are still true eels. These fish are native to the Indo-Pacific.

You get eel-ated just looking at them!
